The best smartphones in 2020
Each year, top smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Samsung, and Google release a series of smartphones that include their flagships and other low-end models. Unlike 5 or 6 years back when every phone manufacturer was trying to make the slimmest phone, in 2020 things are a little different. Manufacturers are now focusing on making phones with a high screen to body ratio, great battery, and great cameras.
With so many great phones in the market right now, compiling a list of the best ones is not an easy job, but I will try to do my best. Please note that the best list below is in no particular order but simply a list of the best phones at the moment. This list is on the best phones based on features so they are expensive but worth it.
The iPhone 11 pro and the pro max models have been among the most selling phones in the last 8 months. It's no doubt that Apple is still ahead of the competition when it comes to the chips (CPU) they use in their phones. The A13 Bionic chip is by far the best smartphone processor in the market right now.
When you combine this with the well-optimized iOS, you get a 5-star phone performance - the reason many people love iPhones. The other main features of the iPhone 11 pro are as follows; 5.8” OLED Display (6.5” for the iPhone 11 pro max, 12mp Triple lens camera set up, 4gb RAM, Face ID, and up to 512gb storage. The price in Nigeria starts at about 520,000 Naira for the single SIM models and 650,000 Naira for dual SIM models. Go to Jumia to buy this phone (for those in Nigeria).
2. Samsung galaxy s20 Ultra
This phone has the best OLED display in the market - something Samsung always excels at. It runs the latest Android 10 OS with the Samsung one UI built on top of it. The snapdragon 865 processor and 12gb of RAM make this phone of the best performers in the market at the moment.
It also has a 108MP (with 100X zoom) camera that takes great photos and videos. This phone also has 5G which is something you should consider if 5G is a priority to you. Its price in Nigeria starts from 450,000 - 750,000 Naira. Go to Jumia to buy this phone.
This is one of the high performing and well-built smartphones in the market at the moment. Its performance is mainly due to the snapdragon 865 chip, with 12gb of RAM and Android 10 OS. OnePlus 8 pro has almost everything you would expect from a 2020 flagship device.
This phone will absolutely give you value for money based on its prices and specs.
Its price in Nigeria starts at about 348,000 Naira.
Apple and Google have been leading the battle of the best smartphone camera for the last 2 years. And again, Google did not disappoint with its camera set up on the Pixel 4xl.
The well-optimized Android 10 OS on the Google Pixel 4xl, 6gb of RAM, and the snapdragon 865 CPU makes this phone one of the fastest in the market right now. The price of this phone is Nigeria starts at 361,138 Naira.
I have added this phone on the list not because of its high-end specs but because of its price. Getting a new iPhone at $399 is something that no one expected Apple to do in 2020. Ths iPhone has the best camera you can get from any phone below $500.The phone also has Apple's latest A13 Bionic chip that is used the iPhone 11 models.
It also runs iOS 13 – apple's latest OS. The only downside about this iPhone is its small display and thick bezels. But if you don't mind these, you will surely enjoy using this phone.
If you want some of the best pictures possible with smartphones I recommend both the Samsung S20 Ultra and iPhone 11 Pro. If you want a phone with the best features for a mid-range budget then I recommend the iPhone SE 2020.
The phones above are quite expensive but they are worth it, price among other factors such as features and durability play a key role in the next phone you purchase.
That will be all folks.
What do you think of my list? Is there any phone I should have included in my list? Leave me a comment.
