As a newbie in the blogging business, the journey has been filled with ups and downs. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed and doubt the stories I read of how people are making huge sums of money from blogging. There have been some exciting moments such as launching my website, posting my first article, getting the first likes and comments among some other milestones.
I have come to the realization that I love writing and startups, one of the best after feelings is just after overcoming a challenge and there are numerous challenges in this journey from getting subscribers to content creation, from SEO to email marketing, from content curating to using the right pictures in an article, it has been a journey of self-exploration.
Although I have not achieved my financial goals for my blog yet, I must say there is a sense of fulfillment thus far. I have discovered that the money-making part takes some time but it will surely happen as long as you keep at it. The goal of making money is paramount and one of the quickest ways is through affiliate marketing. There are some good affiliate programs available for new blogs such as SEMrush, Bluehost, Fiver, ShareAsale, and others. Read my article on affiliate marketing for more programs.
Building Up Traffic For Your Blog
There is no greater feeling of frustration for a blogger after posting your great content and then there is deep silence, you keep waiting for the traffic to your post to build up but nothing. One of the easiest modes for promoting your blog is the use of social media platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Instagram. You have to post your articles on your profile, groups, and share them with your followers. The task of building traffic is a daily grind since this is what generates revenue for bloggers.
As a new blogger, you will need to work on SEO to rank higher in search engines in order to be found. Searches lead to traffic as well which is organic and does not cost anything, but you gotta put in the work.
Of course, whatever niche you are in, creating content frequently that captivates your audience is important. You need to remember that you are creating content for your audience and not for yourself. As long as you create unique and original content your audience will definitely grow with time. Remember to carry out keyword research during content creation to rank your content on SERP with the use of the right keywords. You can read my article on content marketing toolkit to help you with creating high-quality content.
The journey so far has been exciting and I am hopeful I will achieve my goals very soon. If you are a new blogger or an aspiring blogger, know this it takes time and work to build a successful blog, and when I say successful I also mean money-making (at adamenfroy.com) blog.
